Cabaret & Music Direction

Nobody in the audience noticed. That's the job.

Accompanist and music director for cabarets, musicals, choirs, and showcases across NYC and New Jersey.

What I bring to a show

Singers feel supported. Directors get what they asked for.

I'm the resident pianist for the Jersey City Cabaret, where I accompany 20+ singers every month with about a week of prep and one rehearsal before showtime. I've been the accompanist for North River Sing's 70-voice choir since 2019, and I've music directed musicals, run a ten-piece wedding band, and produced recitals for over a decade.

Show night, I'm playing, conducting, watching singers for breath cues, and following the stage, all at once. If a singer rushes a line, I shorten the vamp to meet them. If the room is hotter than rehearsal, I pull the band back so the vocals cut through. You never hear the machinery. You just hear the story.

What does a music director actually do?

Three shows, four musicians, no bass player, and a Broadway score. Here's what it looked like from behind the keys.
